I am also considering entering the Edmonton half marathon in August. I am just not sure I'll be ready to run 13.1 miles by then!!!
6 miles in 62:40 minutes! Wasn't sure I could do it after my terrible bout of leg cramping these last four days. Pretty sure it was because I needed to be replenishing my electrolytes during my runs, not just after them!! We'll see if it works as I added some electrolytes to my water today!

My half marathon journey continues. Today I ran 5.5 miles in 55:10 minutes, total running time was 42 minutes. I beat my last time by almost 2 minutes. Not bad, I'd say!!!! In a few runs I'll be running the whole 60 minutes, ugh!!!
I have been inspired by the "Thrive" movie. For so long, I have felt that there has been something so corrupt and morally wrong with our society. I have also felt helpless, that there was nothing that I could do ... that our world and our society (as we think we know it) was doomed to failure and global dominance. Now, thanks to this movie, I have a new found hope and know that I have already been doing some things to change this predicament from being played out. I invite you to watch and listen to the message in the movie and challenge you to begin to make a difference ... even a little one. Let's be brothers and sisters in this new voyage for a potentially beautiful world.
http://www.thrivemovement.com/the_movie?giftCode=KJHDF678S7 I have successfully completed chapter 12 of my novel. This was a fun chapter to write as I got to introduce my reader to one of the dragons. I am excited to develop this character and his story!!! Here's a little piece of my work:
Excerpt from Chapter 12 - The Legend of the Stone and the Embryo The more Nadira thought about her brother and the situation the more confused she became. “Why do you have Uqbah following the elf spawn around like a puppy then? If you think the egg is under Shambalese, wouldn’t it be more suitable for him to stay back and search for it?” Lucaenad stopped rapping his talons on the cave floor. “At the rate the villagers are dying off, there should be no one left once the traveling companions return. No, he’s better off with the witch. He can dispose of her once she locates the stone!” Nadira combed her fingers through her waist long, glossy onyx colored hair. Lucaenad is avoiding the question, she thought. She cleared her throat and asked, “Why do you have Uqbah following Reollyn, if she is of no use to you, then?” “All elf spawn needs to be watched. The world would be a better place if they were exterminated!” The words fizzed on the tip of his tongue. “You keep referring to elves, what do they have to do with Reollyn?” Lucaenad continued to trace the outline of his heart, slower and more deliberate. “The little witch is probably not even aware of who she really is and what magiks she might obtain! Sad, really, that such a beauty can’t be trusted and that she’ll eventually meet an untimely end!” “But elves?” Nadira was more confused than ever. Her head began to pound. “Why do you despise elves so much?” Lucaenad stopped outlining his heart and tapped its center. “Let’s just say that I made the mistake of letting a certain dark elf get too close and paid dearly for it. The proof is in the scar I wear.” Still training .... wish I had more time in the week to devote to my running. I continue to increase my running time. Over the last week, I have run 7 miles in 72 minutes. I'm using an Ipod app, to help me increase my running time. Yesterday I had a shorter practice but longer stretch of running time - 55 minutes, with 40 of it running time. I clocked 5.1 miles in about 52 minutes. It will be interesting to see if I'll be running my half marathon by summer's end.
