It is wilth anticipation and a LOT of training that I enter 2017! I still can't believe that I will be running in the Boston Marathon on April 17, 2017...with Kathrine Switzer!!!! Would somebody please pinch me??
I have been given a great opportunity to spread the 261 Fearless fever! Not only am I a 261 Fearless Ambassador and Coach but I am also in the process of creating a non-profit 261 Fearless Club for Lloydminster. I think that my application has been approved as the Government of Alberta has cashed my cheque. This can only mean something good...at least that's the path I am taking at this point. There are still a lot of other things to put into place before I can actually schedule my club's first run meet but I am hoping that 261 Fearless Club Lloydminster will be up and running by Spring (or sooner)! My fundraising efforts continue. As of January 6th, I have raised $3154 usd on my Crowdrise site, that's about 43% of the total amount I need to raise! I recently sent in about $294 cad and I have another $85 cad that I obtained over the last few days. So this will help me almost reach half way (50%)! The only thing that's killing me right now, is the exchange rate, the $294 cad might convert to about $220! Ugh!! It's really disappointing. On the positive side, I have had some awesome donations and wonderful support from my family and friends! I couldn't do this without them! Thank you to all who have donated to my fundraising cause so far. I am feeling the love and appreciate the support, more than words can say!! I am also using the funds raised through my shoveling duties at the school to add to my fundraising efforts! It is keeping me busy and, I guess, adding a bit of upper arm strengthening exercises to my routine! My training is progressing. This Sunday's long run will be 13 miles. I was hoping to do this outside but it looks like our temperatures are supposed to dip down into -40 Celcius! Yikes! Too cold for this chick to run that long! Old Man Winter, you just need to go away!! 100 more days until Boston! I can already feel the electricity in the air! Boston Baby, I am on my way!!
