My year was off to a great start with this wonderful 5K run in Edmonton. It was a fantastic day for a run at only -4 degrees Celcius! All that training in the cold weather helped but I ended up removing my headband and gloves; I could've also used to remove an extra layer but had nowhere to put it if I did, so it stayed on! There were 1500 people there!!! Amazing! I completed the run in 28:56, not my greatest time but it was difficult trying to get past people at the beginning of the race. Once we moved out and beyond it was much easier to pass other runners. It felt good being able to pass other runners and keep going. I ran the complete 5K without stopping! This is something I hadn't done in months, so I felt pretty good. I believe I would like to do this again next year. Maybe I can even get a run like this to come to Lloydminster. That is definitely something I am going to check into this year.
